Feat For Food 2016

A record number of people walked, ran, and cycled five kilometres around Nanoose Bay in the 6th Annual Feat for Food on Sunday April 3rd.  The event, in support of our food bank and emergency services, was organized by Dr. Rustin Abdourahman, his enthusiastic team at the Nanoose Bay Dental and his wife Rhonda.

Over 130 participants took advantage of the opportunity to get some exercise in the mild Spring weather.   Most ambled along the route chatting with friends, while a few keeners ran the distance in just under half an hour.  All in all, a great day and the event raised $3,700 for NCS.

A special table awaiting the return of the participants was manned by three teens eager to help the cause.  They baked and decorated about 30 cupcakes and offered them to those with a sweet tooth for an extra donation to NCS.  Way to go Isabel Abdourahman, Taylor Sundberg-Groot and Savanna Debruyne!

A very special thanks to Rhonda, Rustin and everyone at the Nanoose Bay Dental for all of their hard work! And…to all participants and donors – we are very grateful.
