The popular Sunday enrichment series for all residents of Nanoose begins again in October at Fairwinds Golf Club. As in the 2015/16 season, two themes will alternate bi-weekly. The first series on History is from The Great Courses entitled People & Events that Shaped Our Lives. The second, Geology, series is from two acclaimed BBC Series: Rise of the Continents and How the Earth Changed History.
The first history program kicks off the series on October 16. It entitled The Clash of World Views: Capitalism vs Socialism.
The first geology program on October 30 is Africa from the Rise of the Continents series. As last year, Nanoose resident geologists, Tony Ransom and Joe and Pam Straka will be on hand for clarification and questions.
A cash bar opens at 3:30pm and the program starts at 4:00. For those who would like to stay for dinner after the program, a buffet dinner (priced from $14-$16) will be provided if there are sufficient people who reserve by Thursday noon prior to each event. In order for chefs to prepare the required amount of food, only those who have reserved in advance will be able to stay for dinner.
Sunday@4 is co-sponsored by Nanoose Community Services and the Fairwinds Community Association.
