The NCS Client Services team now numbers 14 hard-working volunteers. Their responsibilities include the Food Program, Emergency Services, and Education as well as manning the telephone hotline 24/7.
On March 15th the team held a lengthy planning session. Applying their experience and knowledge of NCS client needs, they began the process of creating proactive processes to ensure quick and consistent response. They drafted procedures to respond to emergency and other client requests and started building a repository of additional service providers who could offer services as they are needed.
Over the past month, team members have met with the Salvation Army Food Bank, Vancouver Island Workability Program, and Vancouver Island University (VIU) to share information and discuss partnerships.
As the needs of our neighbours increase, NCS volunteers are working diligently to keep one step ahead.
