Nanoose Bay lost one of our most community-minded residents to a quick and silent cancer on Wednesday, August 23, 2017.
Steve Davison gave his time, knowledge and endless energy to the clients of Nanoose Community Services for over four years. He was truly one of a kind.
Comments from those who worked with him were effusive. Steve was all about the client…he got so much satisfaction from helping people. He offered a listening ear, making it easy to open up to him. He gave a hand up when it was needed; from helping one client start a small business to connecting another to legal assistance. He was willing to take on any task and was always on the lookout for ways to improve and upgrade services to clients. Steve initiated the pet food program, started earlier this year, which has already proven to be a huge success.
A former client talked about how Steve made her feel like “I was more than I gave myself credit…made me feel good about myself”. “He was someone special in my life”, she said, “and he inspired me to do many good things”.
NCS and all the Nanoose Bay community will miss this kind, loving, and very humble man.
Our hearts go out to his wife, Andree Fortin, and their family. Rest in peace, Steve.
