Spring in the Garden

Community Garden March 2018

Volunteers for the Canada150 Community Garden are beginning to gear up for their first planting season. Plots are currently being allocated to clients of Nanoose Community Services and classes at Nanoose Bay Elementary School. A cooperative area will be set aside for volunteers to grow produce for clients unable to work in the garden themselves, and then plots will be made available for cultivation by local residents at a nominal fee.

Local businesses have offered donations of soil (Lussier and Son Contracting) and seedlings (The Rusted Rake) and local residents are encouraged to drop off extra garden tools to The Rusted Rake.

Volunteers are always needed. Experience is not necessary! We’d love to have you join us in building a strong connection to the land and the food system for our clients and local children.
