Sunday@4: SPACE: New Rockets, New Ventures JANUARY 12, 2020 @ 4:00pm – 5:00pm; Paul Kolodziej, former NASA engineer (FREE)

Sunday@4

How much would your airline ticket cost if your plane to Toronto was destroyed after landing, and another brand-new plane was used for your return home to Nanaimo? A big, big suitcase of money for sure. This is how most trips to Space occur, the rockets are only used once, and the tickets are very, very expensive. Now several commercial companies are developing semi-reusable rockets that are beginning to lower the cost of launching people and cargo into low earth orbit.

Join Nanoose resident, Paul Kolodziej for a brief look at the leading contenders shaping this new market.  Paul was a research engineer at NASA for 25 years and spent most of career working on heat shields that protect spacecraft during entry into a planet’s atmosphere.
