An incredible return for Art in the Garden

The Nanoose Bay Art in the Garden happened last July and wow, was it fantastic!

After having to cancel the annual event in 2020 due to the pandemic, event host Lesley Seselja and her team returned this year to organize an incredible line up of over 80 local artisans, live music and food. It was an impressive and diverse showcase of some of the best art and craft this region has to offer.

Nanoose Community Services (NCS) has benefited from the event’s success each year, and received an incredible $11,690.00 donation from Art in the Garden this year, nearly double the amount we received in 2019!

“It was very busy for us and we are in awe of the community support,” wrote Lesley.

Nanoose Community Services provided 14 volunteers to help in various areas over the three days.

“We enjoyed warm weather and the beautiful garden surroundings. The excitement of the patrons was palpable, and the very talented artisans / vendors were outstanding,” says NCS Volunteer coordinator, Cheryl.

A heartfelt thank you to all volunteers, neighbours, family and friends; Team Susan Forrest; Janie’s Got a Bus and Harris Oceanside GMC for the shuttle service, Stone Tree Farms for providing Artisan parking and the Art in the Garden committee for making this market event a huge success after months of preparation.

To date, Art in the Garden has contributed a total of $49,840 in donations resulting from the net proceeds from entrance fees over the past 11 years.
