NCS seeking volunteers for Income Tax program & Volunteer Coordinator

Illustrations of people-figures in different colours and heights holding hearts of different shades of pink about their heads and the words "Volunteers Needed: Neighbours Helping Neighbours" is below.

Are you looking for ways to volunteer to help folks in need in Nanoose the New Year? Well there may be a role for you to help your neighbours in need.

Nanoose Community Services (NCS) is on the lookout for volunteers to help with the Community Income Tax Program and a Volunteer Coordinator to serve on the Board of Directors in 2022.

Community Income Tax Program Volunteers

Last tax season, Nanoose residents, Judy and Randy volunteered through The Community Income Tax Program and supported NCS clients in getting their income taxes filed. This was a tremendous help for some folks who were then able to receive entitled benefits and credits. NCS would like to continue making this service available to clients and are looking for volunteers to help with the 2021 tax year. No experience with Community Income Tax Program necessary, training is available. Learn more about the role here.

Volunteer Coordinator (Director position)

NCS is also looking to fill the the Director position of Volunteer Coordinator by April 2022. The Volunteer Coordinator is a rewarding, fun, community-facing position that recruits volunteers for NCS and affiliated events, and coordinates volunteers for events like Nanoose Bay Art in the Garden. Cheryl Deckert, NCS’s current Volunteer Coordinator, has done a wonderful job all these years and we are forever grateful for all her help (you rock, Cheryl!)
