Real-Life Spy Thriller to Aid NCS

May 15, 2016 @ 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Free

Long time Nanoose Bay resident, Robert Popple, will hold an event on May 15th from 3 to 6pm to launch his latest book Cold War Warrior; Canadian MI-6 Agent Lawrence Fox.

Fox, now a resident of Midland Ontario, spent several years in the 50s and 60s going behind the Iron Curtain as a British agent in Britain’s secret spy agency, MI-6.   His first mission was into Budapest in November, 1956 amid fierce action only hours after 1000 Russian tanks had invaded the city.  Bob Popple relates that Fox “and his mission partner had to, more or less, shoot their way out of the city en route to their pickup in Austria”.

Books will be available for purchase (and signing) at the event and Bob is kindly donating $10 of the $25 price to NCS.

No sign-up is required,  All are welcome to come by to meet the author, learn more about this real-life spy and enjoy a drink at the cash bar.
