Sunday@4: Casinos, Crooks, Crime, Corruption and Laundry
November 18, 2018 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Wikileaks, Panama Papers and Paradise Papers have revealed the dark underbelly of global corruption. What do these events have to do with us? Over the past year, there has been information and stories about money laundering in BC casinos and its connections to organized crime, real estate and the fentanyl crisis. Fake news? If real, how bad is it and how far does it go – local, provincial, national, international?
We will hear from Dr. Peter German, the author of BC’s recent “Dirty Money” report on money laundering in casinos and our vulnerability to organized crime, and Sgt. Kevin Duggan of the RCMP’s Sensitive Investigations Unit and his experience with landmark corruption convictions.

Can we reserve seats for lecture or is it on first come first serve?
First come, first served, Ginette. There shouldn’t be a problem with space. But do reserve with Fairwinds for the dinner please.
Thank you. Just saw your replied.
