Christmas is a joyous time for most but for those who struggle to make ends meet, it can lead to stress and sadness.
What We Do
The Elf Program’s mission is to brighten the holiday season for Nanoose Bay families, individuals and seniors in need. Community members who wish to support this mission can purchase gifts such as new, unused clothing, toys, household items and food vouchers. We then place these gifts directly into the hands of our neighbours in need.
How You Can Help
There are two ways you can help. You, your company or your special interest group can be one of our wonderful sponsors this year. By matching you with an individual, senior or family, we provide you with a Wish List of items to choose from and purchase, depending on your personal budget. Your gifts will directly help someone enjoy a very happy Christmas.
Or you can pick a tag and buy a gift. Starting in mid-November every year, our festive Elf Trees can be found in locations throughout the community – Fairwinds Wellness Club, Nanoose Place, St Mary’s Church, Nanoose Post Office, Springford Farm Market and a basket at Nanoose Bay Elementary School. Elf Trees are adorned with our ‘gift wish’ tags. You can pick a tag, buy a gift and place it under any of our trees. This could be anything from a puzzle to a sweet treat, gift card, or a pair of warm socks. Your generosity and holiday spirit will bring great joy to a child or a senior right here in our own community.
NOTE: Please do not wrap the gift before returning it under the tree.

Your Goodwill in Action
Through the generosity of our Nanoose Bay residents, the Elf Program brought holiday joy to 63 adults and 39 children in 2021. Last year almost $54,000 was raised from Elf Tree tags, sponsors and financial donations which goes directly to our other much needed year-round programs that assist families and individuals in our community. We look forward to serving our community again this year, with your help!
